To our Satay Yoga community After much consideration, we have decided to take action that is best for our community…
Yoga was brought into my life through an injury and gave me so much more than just accessible movement. It gave my mind space to relax, to release the stress and negative energy I was holding onto. It also gave me a way to build my relationship with my body, to learn to strengthen it in new ways. It was through this experience that I was called to complete my 200hr teacher training in 2014 and have taught on and off since then. In 2024 I completed my yin teacher training and have brought this into my hub of offerings.
My intention through teaching is to create a space that you can test your boundaries of strength and mobility while honouring your body. Learning to move inward and understand the needs of your body through movement. My purpose is to hold space for you during your yoga class, guiding you safely through poses focused on releasing tension, tight muscles as well as trapped energy. I have training in energy healing and bring this into my teachings, allowing you to move through, creating space and alleviating stress.
I am passionate in holding space for others, cultivating classes that allow movement, strengthening, as well as room to relax, destress and leave the studio lighter. Whether you join me for a yin to yang or hatha 2, I look forward to guiding you through your movement!
My experience of varied dance forms allows me to infuse that fluidity of movement into my yoga practice and teaching. My work in a theological environment helps guide my life and yoga practice and combined with my public speaking skills, allows me to convey a well-rounded practice to my yoga students. Through these skills I hope to provide students with an opportunity to experience this ancient practice with gentleness, humour and compassion.
I work to create an environment of self-acceptance and personal growth adapting the postures to suit the unique needs of each student. Intrigued by the power of yoga to transform the body, mind and spirit, I consider the yoga classroom to be not only a sacred space but also a laboratory where individuals can safely explore their physical and emotional selves through asana and meditation.
I encourage students to enjoy the yoga journey while being patient and gentle with themselves. I love being a part of each student’s personal journey.
I am committed to always being a student of yoga through ongoing training and education in order to bring students the best in yoga instruction.
I opened this studio to welcome and share the passion I have for yoga. As a teacher, I do a daily practice to maintain my strength, inspiration, and integrity so I can support my students on a path of discovering their true self. I teach with strength, passion and fire.
I have an authentic and no non-sense approach to yoga where my classes are enjoyable, but continuously evolving and challenging. My practice offers meditation to discover self-awareness followed by a dynamic flow challenging student to reach their full potential and guiding them to connect breathe with movement. I encourage students to embrace the unknown, so they can explore, express and discover their inner strength.
I always say yoga discovered me when I moved to Tsawwassen over 12 years ago. I tried out my first class and got hooked. Now, I am a student for life who is deeply devoted to always learning and being inspired by fellow teachers and students. After completing my 200 hours three years ago, I was teaching and pursuing 300 more hours of learning, which I completed this year.
I will leave you with my favorite quote that I turn to for inspiration…“Let nothing dim the light that shines from within” by Maya Angelou.
Join me on the mat.
