At Satya Yoga we are offering a variety of classes that are accessible for all levels and abilities. Check out the classes and see which one suits you.  If you are still unsure, we are delighted to help you out.

Kundalini is called “Yoga of Awareness” and that is exactly what this class is about becoming aware of your full potential.  Expect a fast-paced class with powerful combination of specific asanas (kriya), chanting of mantras, meditation, mudras, breathing techniques, dancing, laughing and expressing yourself. The class is simple with repetitive movement awakening the Kundalini energy.

This class is suitable for any age, body and flexibility. It’s ideal for those who want to loose weight, release tension, build stamina, increase consciousness and leave empowered and invigorated. Kundalini allows you to become aware of and live more from your true self.

Power Vinyasa Flow

Power vinyasa flow is a fast pace, invigorating class that encourages student to discover their inner strength as they develop strength, flexibility, and openness. So, expect to move through a dynamic, flowing sequence of postures (asanas) that link breath with movement as it achieves balance in the mind and body. You will leave feeling inspired and alive.

Power vinyasa flow is suitable for those who can safely move in and out of postures at a quick pace. Props are used and modifications are offered throughout the practice.

It is ideal for those who want to challenge themselves, those who are sports minded and those who simply want to stay in shape. Discover being energized, connected and free.

This class has less flow and more emphasis on alignment of the body. Expect to move slower giving you ample time to explore deeper awareness of the postures to release stress, improve flexibility, build strength and bring clarity to the mind. The class cultivates a strong physical and mental connection with your body. You will leave feeling longer, looser and more relaxed.

Hatha is for any one who is trying to get in shape, who has tightness from sports and who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Hatha practice is a wonderful way to brighten the rest of your day.

It is a slower-moving variation of the Hatha Class.  Expect to move slowly and to hold postures longer which gives you plenty of time to explore the sensations in your body.

Moving gently, we are working towards increasing flexibility, enhancing the range of motion, strengthening, and developing balance and breath awareness. Modifications are offered throughout the practice and props are used for support to make it a relaxing experience.

Gentle Hatha is great for anyone who is new to yoga as well as beginners and for those who wants a good stretch. It’s a great class for reducing stress and bringing balance into your life.

Yang 2 Yin

This unique class blends two styles of yoga into one practice. Expect the first half of the practice to be moving through a dynamic flow of sequences focusing on stretching and strengthening the muscles, flexibility and stamina. Second half of the class is yin, where postures are held longer to target the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, joints and bones. This quiet, inward practice emphasis on hips, groin and lower back.

Yang 2 yin is for anyone who needs a physical work out that ends with long passive holds to release stress and tension of the day.

This class is practiced in seated and lying down postures accessing the hips, pelvis, spine, lower back and shoulder joints. Yin yoga is a quiet practice that targets the connective tissues such as ligaments, joints and bones. Expect longer holds with the supportive use of props and mindful breathing to release tightness and tension in the body.

Yin is for anyone who is over stimulated, tired and need to slow down. This is form of self- care that gives you the opportunity to observe, nurture, soothe and calm your mind as well taking care of your body.

This restorative class is completely passive and gentle. Expect each posture to be propped up safely by bolsters, blocks and blankets to calm your nervous system and to relax your entire body. Postures are held for a longer period allowing you to experience relaxation. Giving plenty of time for the body to release the tightness.

Restorative yoga is suitable for all. It allows you to let go. It is beneficial for those who struggle to relax, feel stressed out and for those who simply want to release tension.  Wonderful way to reset, reboot and recharge your body and mind for the rest of the week.

KARMA YOGA – Selfless service in action

This is a Karma class based on donations to support local charities in Tsawwassen and South delta. It is our way of doing Sava, reaching out and caring for others in our community.

We offer Hatha Flow for all levels so why not come in and try out the class.  If you do not have a mat, we have mats you can use for free.

Doing yoga for a cause is a brilliant way of giving back to the community It also provides a wonderful opportunity for first timers to experience a yoga class, meet our dedicated teachers and know your contribution helps to make a difference in someone’s life. We welcome everyone to come. We suggest donations starting from $10.00.

The first charity we will be supporting at Satya Yoga is the Little House Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Society located on 12th Ave in Tsawwassen. It provides support and counselling for those recovering from substance use. We are excited to be part of their journey, but even more excited to see you on the mat.
